  • What If.

    What if I was thinner.
    What if I was smarter.
    What if I had longer legs.
    What if I was brave.
    What if I was older.
    What if I was rich.
    What if I was poor.
    What if I was Charming, funny or stunning.
    Would you love me then?
    If I was all of these things would you finally fall for me?
    If I was everything I want to be, would you notice?
    Or would I just have to make another list of things I think you want?
    Well I can't change these things.

  • November 5th 2009

    Yay! It's my birthday! I'm turning 19 and it should be completely fantastic day right? Wrong. Well mostly wrong. I wake up and get the usual 'Happy Birthday' from my roommates. Expecting something is up, maybe a surprise party like we did for Brianna, I ask Brianna what they have planned for the day. Her face gets sad as she informs me that my roommates didn't want to do anything for my birthday. Brianna had planned to have a 'surprise' party (I figured they would so it wasn't much of a surprise) but my roommates didn't think it was necessary. So no party. I'm ok with that I guess, I kinda didn't want to make a fuss about it anyways. So I went throughout the day like normal. It was just another day, it might as well been November 19th or something. There was nothing special about that day. I walked home with one of my guy friends and when he asked me what I was doing for my birthday(he remembered on his own =D) I told him probably just homework. He thought that was a shame and then we went our separate ways. I get home and Brianna had decorated my room. On the door it said "SHELBY" and over my bed it read "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!" She made my bed and put some goodies on it (ice cream, cookies and a movie). She is so sweet and it totally made the day special. But then she had to leave for a meeting. After Brianna left my roommates attacked me with questions asking me what I want to do for my birthday. In my head I was thinking "Oh NOW you wanna do something?" but i just said that I didn't know. Well my roommate Megan said "Ok, we're either going to Craigo's or Cold Stone. Take your pick." I personally didn't want to go to either but they said those were my only options. Then while I was trying to decide Megan is mouthing "COLD STONE! COLD STONE! COLD STONE". So much for my choice. Then they inform me that we have to go now so that Jessica can go. Right after Brianna left. So I pul out my cell phone and ask her when she's coming back. She said only 25 minutes. I ask them to wait and they say it's to late. I wasn't sure what to do. So I asked Brianna if she wanted me to bring her something back. If she couldn't go I could at least bring her something back right? That was a nice thing to do right? So then we walk over to our FHE brother's apartment and we're there for like 20 minutes. So I thought maybe Brianna would be home (hopefully). I texted her and she said she didn't want to go. I was really sad and disapointed but i guess if she didnt want to go I would be ok with it. When we got to Cold Stone my friend that I had walked home with asked me out on a date. I was really happy and super surprised. So I made them hurry up and eat their ice cream and we headed back home. When I got there Brianna had been crying and wouldn't talk to me. I thought it was because I was going on a date. I immediatly told her i wouldn't go if she didn't want me to. She was more important that a cute guy. But she told me to go and thats not what she was mad about. I was not going to be able to have fun on the date if i didn't know what was bugging her so she finally told me. It was because we had gone to Cold Stone without her. She is one of my best friends and she deserved to go more than they did. She wasn't mad at me, she was mad at the others. Aparently after I left for my date they had a fight and Megan thought Brianna was over reacting. I don't think so. When I got back from the date the whole apartment got quiet and really akward. So much for having a perfect day. Well the date was perfect but it wasn't reality. Once I got back to reality, it hurt for a couple days.

  • Garritt

     Garritt is truly an amazing person. I showed up at his house the Saturday before Thanksgiving. When his mom opened the door her face was overcome with surprise. No one knew I was coming home. I had just called him to make sure he was home and made up some excuse for why I had to get off the phone and that I'd call him back. When I got to the top of the stairs he looked up from his bed just as I looked into his room and his jaw dropped and his eyes got so big! It was priceless. He ran into his closet because the shirt he was wearing was "To tight", when really he was just embarrassed for me to see his bulging muscles he has developed from football this year.(He knew I'd probably make a comment and tease him)Last year all the girls at my high school were in love with him, even though he was just a freshmen, he turned all the girls heads. Tuesday was my "Garritt" day because he was going to be gone the rest of the week. I got to his house at 2:45 and didn't leave till almost 11. It took us almost 3 hours to decide that we were going to rent movies and eat popcorn.
    We watched Traitor, it was a good movie but kinda long and not really a movie you want to watch when you want to have fun with a friend. When we were at Blockbuster the cashier thought me and Gar were boyfriend and girlfriend, it happens more often that you'd think. Sheesh, can't a guy and a girl be just friends without there being MORE? No I didn't think so either. haha But I love this kid, he's truly fantastic. He's one of the things I missed most about being home. Best friends are not about always being together. Its about being apart and nothing changes. I wish he could be my roommate, we would never fight. Well that's not true, we would probably fight a lot. But I wouldn't hate him afterwards... Although it might be inappropriate to say that I want a boy for my roommate...
